Pandemic Livestreams
With venues across the world shuttered during the pandemic lockdown, live events were left without a home. Drawing on my roots as an early developer in streaming media, I set out to keep the music playing during this period of isolation. I built a distributed broadcast platform on Amazon's AWS infrastructure that allowed artists to come together from across the globe and perform in virtual events, all from the safety of their own homes.
Over the course of the pandemic, I hosted a virtual event series featuring 75 artists from 7 countries, broadcasting over 90 hours of entertainment. I partnered with entertainment companies from across New England, with one stipulation: every event had to raise money for a cause, charity, advocacy organization, or pandemic-impacted group. Together, the broadcasts raised nearly $10,000 during the course of the shutdown.Partnerships:
