The Crystal Forest
Rabbit Revolution partnered with Hydrotechnics Festival, a music festival in upstate New York, to lead the art direction and stage design of their woods stage. I drew inspiration from crystal geodes for a design that became a hallmark of the event across two consecutive years.
On the banks of scenic Echo Lake, I led the Rabbit Revolution team in tackling the challenge of creating a lightweight installation built around an existing A-frame structure. I 3D modeled the concept and used a CNC router to produce cutting templates for each piece. We fabricated and assembled the pieces of the installation, then transported it flat-packed to the site for final assembly, bringing it to life through a combination of LEDs and projection mapping. In year two, I expanded the design with additional atmospheric sculptures featuring pixel-mapped LEDs and intelligent lighting.Brian Aniki, Nick Balsbaugh, Stacy Blackadar, Heather Crocker, Sarah Falby, Jessica Ferraro, Sabrina Gaulin, John Haxx, Jay Kennison, Justin Looper, Lucius Natick, Alyx Redd, George Redford, and Tim Redford
