Boynton Yards
Boynton Yards and ONCE Somerville approached me to bring a touch of magic to a series of community holiday events in Somerville. The event series brought together local small businesses, artisans, musical performers, brewers, and food vendors for a number of special seasonal celebrations: Oktoberfest, Somersgiving, and Winterfest.
JJ Gonson, of the legendary ONCE ballroom in Somerville, brought me onto the project team to create visually captivating experiences that would animate normally empty, liminal spaces in the neighborhood development. I debuted two new installations at these events: the Photon Festoons and a centerpiece 360-degree holiday light tree comprised of 3,200 individual LEDs. I also brought my Crystalline Entities installation to add an icy touch to the winter events.
