Venues People Can't Stop Talking About
Multi-sensory performance environments that transform venues into destinations — commanding premium pricing, generating organic social content, and building brand identities that outlast any single act.
Anyone can book the same acts. The festivals, clubs, and venues that become legendary aren't defined by their lineups — they're defined by the experience of being there. Lighting that washes over you when you walk in, decor that transports you to another time or place, and visuals that make your jaw drop. The thing you try to describe to someone who wasn't there and can't quite capture.
I build those moments — and the systems that deliver them night after night, season after season, without fail.
As a booking manager at award-winning venues, a longtime event producer, and the founder of Rabbit Revolution, I've spent years on both sides of the production relationship. I know what works on the floor, what breaks under pressure, and what makes an audience feel something they didn't expect.
I bring all of that — combined with enterprise-grade project management and battle-hardened production execution most designers in this space don't hold — to every performance environment I design.
Breaking Beyond the BookingS
The entertainment industry has changed. Streaming has commoditized the recorded experience completely — which has made the live experience more valuable than ever, but also more demanding. Audiences who can watch or listen to anything, anywhere, anytime are not easily impressed when they show up in person. They've seen the footage from the festivals and venues they didn't go to. They have expectations.
And they have phones.
Every moment in your venue is either a content moment or a missed one. The rooms that generate organic social reach — the installations people photograph, the environments they try to capture, the experiences they want to share — are spending less on paid media and building larger audiences than the ones that don't. In an era where your audience is your marketing team, the design of your space is a distribution strategy.
Meanwhile, the economics of live entertainment demand more from every square foot. Premium ticket tiers and table service require premium environments to justify the price. Sponsors need activatable spaces that integrate their presence meaningfully rather than plastering logos on walls. And a venue that becomes part of the story — not just a backdrop to it — builds the kind of brand equity that survives lineup changes, ownership transitions, and the relentless churn of the market.
The venues and festivals investing in distinctive, immersive environments are the ones building durable businesses. The ones treating the room as an afterthought are competing on a race to the bottom.
Letting Your Stars Shine Brighter
My work in entertainment and performing arts spans the full range of immersive environment design — from signature stage elements to complete venue transformations. Every system is built to perform at the scale and reliability that live entertainment demands.
Stage Design & Scenic Fabrication
Custom-designed stage elements, sculptural backdrops, and scenic installations that create a visual identity for your stage that no touring package can replicate. Designed for the specific dimensions and sight lines of your space, built for the load-in and changeover realities of live production, and striking enough to become part of what your venue is known for. The North Star — a projection-mapped sculptural centerpiece designed for the Mystic Stage at Permatours' It Takes a Village festival — served as a literal landmark for the event, anchoring the stage identity and giving the space a visual presence that extended well beyond performance hours.
Projection Mapping & Live Generative Visuals
Transforming stages, architectural surfaces, and sculptural elements into living canvases of audio-reactive light and movement. From single-projector festival stages to complex multi-projector convergence systems competing with flame effects, I design projection environments that respond to music in real time and adapt to the energy of the room. DRKHRT — a 20-foot steel sculpture with audio-reactive projection mapping and propane flame effects — captivated thousands at Love Burn Miami and earned return invitations to Lakes of Fire and Love Burn 2026.
Custom LED & Pixel Mapped Environments
Permanent and semi-permanent LED installations for venue interiors — ceiling canopies, architectural features, dance floor environments, and atmospheric lighting systems that give your space a signature visual identity and an atmosphere that photographs beautifully. Designed for operator simplicity, programmed for adaptability, and built for the daily demands of high-traffic commercial operation.
Venue Transformation & Immersive Event Design
Full environmental transformations for special events, residencies, and seasonal programming — turning existing spaces into something audiences have never seen before. Drawing on years of experience transforming venues and liminal spaces for events, I design and build immersive environments that transport audiences completely: custom fabricated set pieces, mapped LEDs, live visuals, intelligent lighting, and theatrical atmosphere working in concert.
Show Control & Systems Integration
Complex multi-system performance environments — lighting networks, video systems, audio triggers, interactive elements — unified into cohesive, operator-friendly control systems. Built on industry-standard platforms (Resolume Arena, TouchDesigner, QLC+, sACN/ArtNet, TouchOSC) and designed to be run reliably by your crew, night after night, without a specialist on-call.
Designed By Someone Who Understands the Spotlight
Most experiential designers understand art or technology. Fewer understand what it actually means to run a venue.
I've been on the production side of live entertainment for over a decade — performing for crowds of thousands, booking talent, managing stages, building sets, operating shows, and making last-minute calls when something doesn't go as planned at 11pm on a Saturday. As a booking manager at The Middle East Nightclub — recognized as Boston's #1 live music venue by TimeOut Boston in 2024 — and as event producer and CEO of Rabbit Revolution, I've developed a deep fluency in the operational realities of live entertainment that most designers simply don't have.
That means the systems I design are built around how venues actually work: tight load-in windows, variable crew skill levels, back-to-back programming, touring acts with their own requirements, and the absolute non-negotiability of the show going on. I don't design for ideal conditions — I design for Tuesday night with half a crew and a headliner running late.
Related Works
DRKHRT - Love Burn, Miami
A 20-foot steel sculpture combining audio-reactive projection mapping and NFPA 160-compliant propane flame effects, debuted at Love Burn 2025 in Miami. Multi-projector visuals controlled via a sophisticated show system built on Resolume Arena/Wire, HeavyM, and TouchOSC bought the sculpture to life. The installation captivated thousands of festival-goers and earned an honorarium placement at Lakes of Fire in Michigan and a return invitation to Love Burn 2026 — a testament to both its impact and execution across multiple high-stakes deployments.
The Temporal Gala - Spirit of Boston
The Temporal Gala blurred the lines between immersive theater and nightclub event to create a captivating experience for hundreds of nightlife influencers and industry leaders. The event transformed the icon cruise ship, The Spirit of Boston, into a time-traveling vessel, captained by an eccentric mad scientist with a penchant for games of chance. The event brought attendees along for the ride of their lives through an immersive, gamified plot line with a combination of scripted and improv programming and live performances.
The Crystal Forest - Hydrotechnics Festival, NY
A projection-mapped sculptural stage design built for the woods stage at Hydrotechnics music festival for two consecutive years. Conceived in SketchUp, fabricated by hand, and brought to life with MadMapper and HeavyM, The Crystal Forest’s unique visual identity served as a landmark for the event that held its presence through daytime programming and transformed after dark. The captivating design was shared by shared by software maker HeavyM and became a featured installation in their customer portfolio.
Who I Work With
I work best with clients who understand that the room is part of the performance — and who are ready to invest in making it exceptional. Ideal partners in this vertical include:
Music festivals: particularly those with artistic programming mandates, dedicated art installations, or a commitment to creating environments that extend well beyond the stage
Nightclubs and dance venues: looking to establish or refresh a signature visual identity that commands premium pricing and generates organic social reach
Performing arts venues and black-box theaters: seeking technical creative partners for multimedia productions, immersive programming, or environmental design that expands offerings
Concert promoters: building touring productions or one-off events that need distinctive visual environments on compressed timelines
Hotel entertainment venues and rooftop lounges: investing in atmospheric design that differentiates their F&B and nightlife programming
Immersive theater companies: needing technical production partners with deep expertise in building environments that support narrative and audience immersion simultaneously
Let’s Make Your Space Worth Coming Back To
